Stop the Climate Deniers!

Hey Neergs!
Okay, I admit it. I just don't get it! Why isn't our congress doing more to stop global warming? Climate science is irrefutable at this point, unless your are a "flat earther." And why aren't the voters (our families) holding our elected officials accountable? I was listening to NPR radio on the way to school today and was alarmed to hear that the Republican party is likely to grab a majority of seats in the House of Representatives as a result of today's election. A Huffington Post article earlier this week warned that the Republican Party (GOP), with its new found power, was planning an "all out" attack on the EPA and climate legislation efforts. They want to cast doubt on legitimate climate science and keep government from regulating corporate operations--including greenhouse gas emissions. We don't have time to waste while the GOP stymies, stalls and halts climate change measures. It's pretty clear we have to speak more loudly and in a stronger, more unified voice.
Today is election day. You can still make one last heroic effort to convince a mom or dad who hasn't voted yet, to vote for candidates that support climate legislation. Remind them of how important that is to you and your future before they walk out the door. There, you did your best--for today! After today, we need to regroup and rethink our strategy. We have a climate legislation petition on this website. What can we do to drive more traffic and generate more interest for it? Do we need a "You Tube" campaign? Would a contest help? We are tough, creative and educated on the issues. Knowledge is power, and we need to use it! Spread the word and we will be hear. Are you a Neerg? Please take the time to share your creative ideas with us. Email us at admin@greenkidsrock.com and we will share it here and promote it on Facebook, MySpace and Twitter! Peace Out--Ethan
